A clarification about the toenail polish.... I'm all for funky colors, especially in the summer. Those of you who can pull off funky colors know who you are. And, those who cannot, you know who you are too. That said, Jen, no need to change yours. You can totally pull it off!!!
Really, if there's even a doubt in your mind, don't. Just remember...pedicures are your friend. Chipped polish just looks bad. Maybe I just have spent way too much time noticing, but hey, that's me..
Another observation - I'm reading the Arts & Entertainment section of the paper this morning. The cover is Johnny Depp (gag me, I can't stand him. He's pulled a Madonna and thinks he's all British now. Whatever. We all remember 21 Jump Street.) So, inside, there's a big article on Michael Jackson. On page 9, there's a short article on Farrah. Really? Now, I liked Michael. We all did. I was an 80's girl. Thriller was huge..I loved Beat It and all that and I understand how iconic he was, and how he is our generations "Elvis".
But I also think Farrah deserves more. Yes, she was sick for a very long time so maybe her death was, I don't know, expected? But that doesn't diminish her impact on pop culture. How many of us girls played Charlies Angels as kids (I wasn't Jill, I was Kelly), and even I was impressed by the poster.
And what about Ed McMahon? It was a big week for the "death comes in 3's" concept. A sad week. They'll all be missed.

Feelin' Hot, Hot, Hot...
It's freakin' HOT. The last few days have been in the 90's. Crazy. However, this makes for good pool days, which is where we've been. Just a few observations...
* I'm all for funky nail polish, but if you're over the age of 16, you can't pull off blue toenail polish.
* However, if you're going to go barefoot or wear flip-flops, get a pedicure. I don't want to look at your nasty toes. Neither does anyone else.
* Please, please look in the mirror before you leave. All sides...I realize bodies at a pool come in all shapes and sizes, and I'm fine with that. There is an appropriate bathing suit for everyone. Take the time and find it.
* You're at a POOL. Don't bitch because you get splashed. If you don't want to get splashed, stay home.
Enjoy your summer..I'm sure I'll have additional observations as we frequent the pool more this summer!

Okay, okay...
I haven't blogged since Monday, I blew off Friday Fill-Ins, and I didn't run/workout this week. But...I was a very busy girl.
This past Saturday was the big grad party bash for Juj. For those of you who don't know me personally, I tend to get a bit crazed before a party. I'm a control freak and I know it, but the week before a bash..well, all bets are off. So, I was busy planning, making lists, cleaning, shopping and overall, driving everyone crazy. In addition to THAT craziness, I also decided this would be a great time to paint my bathroom. Doesn't everyone paint the bathroom 3 days before a big party? But, it turned out fab-u-lous! It's dark green and I used my boys' second grade pictures as artwork. I'd post a picture, but I didn't take any. I'd also post pictures of the grad party bash, but I didn't take any of that either. Trust me, it was a good time!
I'd like to give a shout out to those of you training for a fall marathon, more specifically, Chicago. It's going to be hot and humid this week, so be sure to hydrate and wear sunscreen. And, while I am still a tad jealous of those of you that actually signed up for the marathon this year, I sure do NOT miss training runs in this weather.
If it's your first marathon, hang in there. Trust me, it is SO worth it when you cross that finish line. If it is not your first, well, you know how much training can suck, and the long road that lies ahead (pun intended). But you have experienced the thrill, and know that after 4 grueling months, it really is exhilarating! Keep running, friends...

Thought For The Day....
I'm just passing this thought along....
Have you ever wondered if the one dollar bill in your wallet was ever in a stripper's butt crack?
If not, you're wondering now.
Have a nice day!!

This One is for Jodes...
Okay, okay... I know, I haven't been around in a long time. A shout out to Jodes for pulling me out of my slump.
In an effort to get back into blogging, I've updated the look and title. I still can't get the crap off the top, and have spent way too much time trying to delete it, so it wins.
I figured I could continue to blog about whatever I have to say, hence the "world according to me" title. Someone recently asked me why I haven't blogged in awhile and I actually said I didn't have much to say. Now, if you know me, you KNOW that is not true. So, Friday Fill-Ins will be back, and who knows what else...so, stay tuned.
I should address the running, or lack thereof, issue...I haven't done it much. I don't know why, I just haven't. I didn't sign up for the marathon this year, and was a little bummed when all the excitement began with the start of training season. It's fun to be caught up in all that. But, no fear, come August when I do NOT have 15+ miles ahead of me at 6 am, I'll be just fine with the decision. My goal for the summer is to get up and run before everyone else gets up. A lofty goal, yes. But a necessary one. Be sure to check back next week to see how THAT'S going...
I also must give a huge shout out to my little sister, Julee, who is graduating from DePaul with her Masters in Nursing this Saturday. After 2 years of insanity, she is finally done! So, congrats, Juj....you're my hero!!
Be sure to check back frequently, friends....thanks for staying with me!
