To All My Favorite Women...NEVER Forget Your Worth!!

God doesn't give you the people you want; He gives you the people you NEED... To help you, to hurt you, to leave you, to love you and to make you into the person you were meant to be.

One Flaw In Women

Women have strengths that amaze men.....
They bear hardships and they carry burdens,
But they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy
And laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in..
They stand up to injustice.
They don't take "no" for an answer
When they believe there is a better solution.
They go without so their family can have.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel
And cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about
A birth or a wedding.
Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member,
Yet they are strong when they
Think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss
Can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you
To show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what
Makes the world keep turning.
They bring joy, hope and love.
They have compassion and ideas.
They give moral support to their
Family and friends.
Women have vital things to say
And everything to give.

'Twas the days before Christmas
And all through the house
Lay scraps of ribbon and an
Unironed blouse.
"Company's coming!"
I say with a shout,
"Pick up the clutter,
Take the newspapers out!"
Yet all of my wishes
Are met with rolled eyes.
"Relax, Mom, it's family,"
My teenagers sigh.
And so I resolve
To just do what I can,
Not strive for perfection
From my lovable clan.
Remember that Christmas
Is not just a day.
It's the feeling of warmth
That our hearts give away.
No one will remember
Those musical elves,
Or notice the mismatched
Books on the shelves.
What they will think of
On this holiday,
Is the love that was shown
In your very own way.
So keep that in mind
As you turn off the lights
Happiest Holidays to all
And to all a good night!

Ten On Tuesday

Yes, it has been so long since I blogged, I figured I'd throw in 2 today. I've also never done the Ten On Tuesday before, but I like this one.

10 Things I Wish I Knew How to Do (not in any particular order...)

1. Play piano
2. Speak italian
3. Sew
4. Play the guitar
5. Drive manual transmission (disclaimer: I can ride a motorcycle, I hear its similar, I've just never tried)
6. Sing
7. Sign language
8. Read/write music
9. Draw really well
10. I can't think of a 10th, so I'll say cut hair, but I'm starting that in January :)

We Are The Champions....

This is Brian's third year playing football..first year, the team made it to the playoffs and lost. Second year, made it to the superbowl and lost. This year, we took it all the way!

That's right folks, a perfect 12-0 season. It was amazing, the boys were excited, I lost my voice..its all good!

I'm sure you know by now that Brian plays football. This year, he's in the featherweight class. Today was the last regular season game, and they won. That's right, a 9-0 season! Rock on..

Now, they're playoff bound. Not sure on time/date yet, but I'm SO excited! Yeah, it's a long season, but we've had a great year (actually, he's had three great years. Every year he's played). This is our first undefeated season, so it's crazy exciting to have it go on longer. Be sure to check back for updates!

I've Got Plans...

As a self-admitted control freak, I love, love, LOVE when things work out the way I want!

As I've mentioned before, the big 4-0 happens in February 2010. Exactly 4 months from today (no, that I had no control over). I'm planning a big 4-0 year. Not in the way of travel or anything like that, just in big ways for me personally.

I've mentioned marathons to be run, and I'm going to run the Green Bay marathon in May 2010. I'm also hoping to do either Milwaukee or Chicago in October. Yep, two. Why the hell not??

My other big thing is going back to school. I've wanted to go back for cosmetology for many years. I've gone to several schools in the area, trying to figure out which was best for me. Today, I found it. The schedule works, the tuition all just feels, well, right. Classes begin on January 12th. Yahoo!

So, bring on 4-0. I'm ready. For my marathons, school and whatever else happens to sound good!

Hello Strangers! Yeah, it's been awhile. I'm a busy gal.

I wanted to wish all the runners in the Chicago Marathon this Sunday good luck. The weather seems to be cooperating this year, and for that, you all must be thrilled! The run can be a bitch, but trust me, crossing the finish line is totally worth it.

I'll admit to marathon envy this year. It's been a perfect season for training, and as mentioned, is shaping up to be a great marathon Sunday. Figures. I'll be cheering you on. Have fun, enjoy it - even the painful parts!

On a similar note, I picked up my brand, spankin' new orthotics today. This means I have no excuse... I suppose I could use the "I need new running shoes" one, but even that is weak. The shoes I have are just fine. Soooo...I need to get out there again. CONSISTENTLY get out there again. There are marathons to be run in 2010!
